A 2-day residential workshop was done with 12 girls who will be getting into college for graduation from our ‘Children of Krishnagiri’ group.
Career choices, handling college and its pressures was handled beautifully by Mr Loganathan and the Team of ILP (India Learning Project)-ARCOD. An eye-opener for me.
Ms Prasanakumari of Childline-ARCOD spoke about child marriage and how to handle other social threats as they enter their growing years and escalate such challenges. Very useful.
We ate sumptuously all the time thanks to two wonderful ladies who were the cooks there. We again learnt ‘sharing is caring.’
We had fun too as we had some sports activity followed by a bonfire. All of us shaking a leg happily to music and blissfully too till midnight.
3 of the mothers (of the girls who came along) were a delight to talk to, re-emphasising my call always for women empowerment.
A yoga class promptly that morning, by the famous teacher, yes and meditation too.
Our 2 graduate girls Sree (name changed) and Priya (name changed) joined us these 2 days to cheer our girls.
Paneerselvam and Stella, supported by Madhamma, Meghanathan, Sivamurthy and Govindan, made the 2 days a pleasure.
‘ARCOD-CoK Centre for excellence’ will start functioning at ‘Namma Veedu.’
We are shortlisting 25 girls for the first year to impart life skills, good health practices, career paths with good education, technology-enabled learning, arts, sports, books, meeting leaders and inspiring souls, and extensive travel leading to becoming a powerful and enabled woman.
We propose to add 25 girls every year and expand to boys as we evolve.
Our next few years’ paths are emerging.
A rainbow showed up, cheering our journey.
