We had an eventful first weekend of 2020!
YRG Care conducted a 2-day residential camp for our adolescent children at our home ‘Namma Veedu.’
Founded by Dr. Suniti Solomon (Padma Shri 2017) in 1993, this organisation has been a pioneer, a leader and a savant in India’s fight against HIV. YRG Care has been organising residential camps every year for children living with HIV from various districts of Tamil Nadu since 2011.
The children of Krishnagiri attended the follow-up camp, and actively participated in Life Skills, Arts & Crafts, and Team-building sessions which were facilitated by the Camp Rainbow Leadership Team, ARCOD, and trained camp volunteers. The key objective of the Camp was to provide campers the opportunity to meet their friends to have some serious fun – to learn and grow – all for free!
The popular YRG Care camps actively engage in education, training, and spreading social awareness. They are loved and enjoyed thoroughly by children of Krishnagiri and non-HIV children as well.
More than 100 children joined the programme on Sunday.
Mr. Satish who’s been with YRG Care for more than 2 decades is an accepted leader amongst the children. Organisations such as YRG have helped children in regaining their confidence and be a part of the mainstream.
